Our Dedication to Your Personal
Injury Case.

Choose a law firm that prioritizes your needs and understands the impact of personal injury. When you suffer from such an injury, securing the assistance of a lawyer becomes essential to ensure the best possible outcome and facilitate your recovery. However, it’s crucial to recognize that not all attorneys operate with the same level of compassion.

Some legal practitioners view their clients merely as financial opportunities rather than individuals in need of support. At Trias Mathis P.A., our team is dedicated to comprehensively understanding the intricacies of your case. This deep understanding enables us to craft a personalized strategy aimed at securing the maximum compensation you deserve.

The Team:

Larry Trias

Laurence “Larry” Trias is the founding partner of Trias Mathis, PA, a Florida law firm representing individuals, families, and businesses in personal injury, insurance claims, and construction litigation.

Larry focuses a significant part of his practice on representing people injured in car accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, bicycle accidents, e-bike and scooter accidents, slip and fall accidents, and other serious injury cases. He understands that a serious accident can affect far more than a person’s physical health—it can disrupt a family, a career, and a person’s financial security. His goal is to guide clients through the legal process while aggressively pursuing the compensation and accountability they deserve.

Larry began his legal career representing Florida homeowners and hurricane victims in disputes with insurance companies that had denied, delayed, or undervalued legitimate property damage claims. That experience gave him firsthand insight into how insurance companies evaluate and defend claims and shaped the approach he continues to bring to his practice today: prepare every case carefully, understand the insurance issues, and be ready to fight when an insurer refuses to treat a client fairly.

Over the years, Larry expanded his practice to represent victims of serious accidents and negligence throughout Florida. Today, he handles a wide range of Florida personal injury and accident claims, including:

  • Car and motor vehicle accidents
  • Commercial trucking accidents
  • Motorcycle accidents
  • Bicycle accidents
  • E-bike and scooter accidents
  • Pedestrian accidents
  • Slip and fall and trip and fall accidents
  • Serious and catastrophic injury claims
  • Wrongful death claims
  • Insurance disputes and denied or underpaid insurance claim

Larry also has significant experience in construction law and construction litigation, representing general contractors, subcontractors, property owners, and other construction professionals in complex disputes. His construction practice includes contract disputes, payment disputes, defective or incomplete work claims, project delays, termination disputes, and other construction-related litigation.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Larry is committed to making legal representation accessible to Florida’s Spanish-speaking community. Together with his bilingual team, he works to ensure that clients understand their rights, their options, and every important development in their case.

Larry believes effective legal representation requires more than simply handling a claim. It requires knowing the client, understanding what is at stake, communicating clearly, and being willing to stand up to insurance companies and other powerful interests when necessary.

At Trias Mathis, PA, Larry provides clients with personalized attention, strategic legal counsel, and aggressive advocacy from the beginning of a case through its resolution.

Whether you have been seriously injured in an accident, are fighting an insurance company over a denied or underpaid claim, or are involved in a complex construction dispute, Larry Trias and the team at Trias Mathis, PA are ready to help protect your rights and pursue the justice and compensation you deserve.

J. Hays Mathis is the Managing Partner of the Destin office of Trias Mathis, PA, where he focuses his practice on personal injury, car accident cases, and catastrophic injury litigation throughout Florida.

Hays represents individuals and families whose lives have been changed by serious accidents and the negligence of others. With extensive litigation experience, he has handled cases from their initial investigation and filing through discovery, depositions, mediation, and jury trial and verdict. His approach combines careful case preparation, strategic litigation, and aggressive advocacy with personal attention to each client and family he represents.

A significant part of Hays’s practice involves representing victims of car accidents and serious motor vehicle collisions throughout Northwest Florida and across the state. His personal injury practice includes:

  • Motorcycle accidents
  • Bicycle and pedestrian accidents
  • E-bike and scooter accidents

As a trial attorney, Hays understands that insurance companies evaluate cases based not only on the injuries and damages involved, but also on an attorney’s ability and willingness to litigate when a fair resolution cannot be reached. He prepares his cases with that reality in mind and works to put his clients in the strongest possible position to pursue the compensation they deserve.

As Managing Partner of the firm’s Destin office, Hays serves clients throughout the Florida Panhandle and Northwest Florida, including Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, Crestview, Miramar Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, DeFuniak Springs, Panama City, Pensacola, and surrounding communities. He also represents clients in serious personal injury matters throughout Florida.

Hays believes that clients facing catastrophic injuries deserve an attorney who understands both the legal and personal consequences of a serious accident. He is committed to keeping clients informed, understanding how an injury has affected their lives and families, and pursuing full and fair compensation for their medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, and other damages available under Florida law.

At Trias Mathis, PA, Hays works alongside the firm’s attorneys and legal professionals to provide clients with personalized representation, thorough preparation, and results-driven advocacy from the beginning of a case through its resolution.

Born and raised in Southwest Florida, Kristina Borjas has a strong connection to the community she serves. As an attorney with Trias Mathis, PA, Kristina focuses her practice on workers’ compensation claims, estate planning, and personal injury law, helping individuals and families protect their rights, their financial security, and their futures.

In her Florida workers’ compensation practice, Kristina represents employees who have been injured on the job and need help navigating the workers’ compensation system. A workplace injury can create immediate concerns about medical treatment, lost wages, employment, and a family’s financial stability. Kristina works closely with injured workers to help them understand their rights, obtain the benefits available to them under Florida law, and address disputes with employers and insurance carriers.

Kristina handles a wide range of workers’ compensation claims, including workplace accidents, occupational injuries, denied claims, disputes involving medical treatment, lost-wage benefits, and claims involving employees who are unable to return to their prior employment because of their injuries.

Kristina also leads the firm’s estate planning practice, working with individuals and families to create thoughtful plans designed to protect their assets, provide for their loved ones, and ensure their wishes are clearly documented. She assists clients with wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and other essential estate planning documents.

Her approach to estate planning is personal and practical. Rather than treating estate planning as simply preparing legal documents, Kristina takes the time to understand each client’s family, assets, concerns, and long-term objectives so that the plan reflects what matters most to them.

Kristina also represents individuals in personal injury matters, bringing the same client-focused approach to those who have been injured because of another person’s negligence. She understands that an injury can affect every aspect of a client’s life and works to ensure that clients understand their legal options and have an advocate protecting their interests throughout the process.

Kristina earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University before receiving her Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law in 2020.

Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Kristina is proud to serve both English- and Spanish-speaking clients throughout Southwest Florida. Her ability to communicate directly with clients in either language helps ensure that they understand their rights, their legal options, and the decisions that can affect their families and their futures.

Beyond her legal practice, Kristina is actively involved in her church and local community organizations, reflecting the same commitment to service that she brings to her work as an attorney.

Clients value Kristina for her combination of legal knowledge, accessibility, compassion, and personalized attention. Whether she is helping an injured employee pursue workers’ compensation benefits, assisting a family in creating an estate plan, or advocating for someone injured through another person’s negligence, Kristina is committed to providing practical guidance and dedicated representation at every stage.

At Trias Mathis, PA, Kristina helps clients prepare for the future, protect what they have worked for, and navigate some of life’s most difficult and important legal challenges.
